Doula 101: Birth And Community

Saturday, August 15, 2026

11am to 12pm
Virtual and Free

A doula is a non-medical professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to pregnant people before, during, and after childbirth.

Join Lesley Loor, doula and alumna of the Beta Chapter of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc at Columbia University (Spring 2009), for an introductory session on doula work and the powerful role doulas play in supporting birth.

We’ll explore themes surrounding advocacy, education, and culturally responsive care as it pertains to strengthening maternal health and birth outcomes in our communities. This workshop is open to all interested in doula support regardless of gender expression or identity.

Mark your calendar—we'd love to see you there!
